This Brookhaven, GA project, completed by Jill Kearns in March 2026, features a refreshed kitchen and primary bathroom. The kitchen combines white perimeter cabinetry with a dark-toned island, topped with light-colored countertops. A green subway tile backsplash adds a subtle color accent, complemented by brass hardware and a striking chandelier. The island provides seating and additional storage, while a dedicated cabinet conceals a coffee station and glassware.

The primary bathroom showcases extensive use of light-colored marble on the walls and floor, creating a bright and airy feel. A soft green vanity with dual sinks and brass hardware introduces a touch of color. The space includes a freestanding tub within a glass-enclosed shower area, alongside a built-in bench and an arched niche, enhancing both functionality and visual interest.

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
