Kitchen Design in Kildeer

Our Kitchen Design service provides comprehensive plans for new kitchens and kitchen renovations. We design the layout, select materials, and document the details for your contractor to build.

What we do

We begin with a Design consultation to understand your project. We then present your design, including floor plans and elevations. Our Construction documents provide detailed drawings, and we guide Material selections for cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures. During Jobsite inspections, we visit the site to review progress. We conclude with Finishing touches, ensuring all design elements are in place.

Who it suits

This service is for homes in Chicago, Southwest Michigan, and Atlanta needing a new kitchen or a full kitchen renovation. It suits older homes in areas like Buckhead or Lake Forest, or new construction in Saugatuck.

In Kildeer

Homes in Kildeer

Many homes in Kildeer, such as the 1980s and 1990s two-story colonials found in subdivisions like Long Grove Lakes and Meadowood, often feature original oak trim and cabinetry. This frequently leads to requests for Kitchen Design or Full-Home Design to update these spaces. Homes built in the early 2000s in developments like Meadowood Estates might have primary bathrooms with separate, smaller shower and toilet rooms, prompting Bathroom Design projects to create more open layouts. We also see requests for Mudroom designs in homes near Kildeer Countryside Elementary School, where families need better organization for everyday entryways.

What homeowners in Kildeer ask for

Homeowners in Kildeer frequently seek Kitchen Design to update 1990s kitchens with original finishes and layouts. Bathroom Design projects are common for 2000s primary bathrooms that feel dated or inefficient. We often address requests for Full-Home Design in two-story homes from the 1980s and 1990s, aiming to refresh multiple living areas. Mudroom projects are also popular in family homes to improve organization.

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
