Full-Home Design in Glenview

Full-Home Design provides comprehensive interior design for your entire residence. We design all interior spaces, from initial concept through finishing touches, creating a cohesive home.

What we do

Our process begins with a Design consultation to understand your home's scope. We then present your design, including drawings and material concepts. Construction documents detail the design for your contractor, and Material selections specify all finishes and fixtures. We conduct Jobsite inspections as construction progresses, and add Finishing touches to complete your home.

Who it suits

This service suits newly built homes in Chicago, Southwest Michigan, or Atlanta. It is also for homeowners undertaking major renovations of existing houses, such as a historic bungalow in Atlanta or a lake house in Southwest Michigan.

Questions

What is included in Full-Home Design?

Full-Home Design includes a Design consultation, Presentation of your design, Construction documents, Material selections, Jobsite inspections, and Finishing touches for your entire home.

How does Full-Home Design differ from your other services?

Full-Home Design covers all interior spaces of your home, unlike Kitchen Design, Bath Design, or Living Space, which focus on individual rooms. It includes documentation for construction, which Furnishing & Styling and Color Consultation do not.

What do I receive at the end of the design process?

You receive a complete set of Construction documents, including drawings and specifications, along with detailed Material selections for all finishes and fixtures in your home. We also oversee the Jobsite inspections and Finishing touches.

How long does a Full-Home Design project typically take?

The duration of a Full-Home Design project varies based on the size and complexity of your home. We will discuss a timeline during your initial Design consultation.

How do you work with my contractor for Full-Home Design?

We provide your contractor with Construction documents, which detail the design for their build. We conduct Jobsite inspections to ensure the design is implemented correctly during construction.

In Glenview

Homes in Glenview

Glenview homes include 1950s ranch homes in neighborhoods like Swainwood, often featuring smaller, closed-off kitchens that benefit from Kitchen Design. Subdivisions such as The Glen feature 1990s and 2000s two-story homes, where primary bathrooms might have outdated finishes or layouts, making Bathroom Design a common request. Many homes, including those in the Tall Trees area, have basements built with lower ceiling heights, which we address during Basement Remodel projects. We also see 1970s and 1980s homes near Glenview Road where unpainted oak trim and cabinetry are common, often prompting Color Consultation and Furnishing & Styling updates.

What homeowners in Glenview ask for

Homeowners in Glenview frequently seek Kitchen Design to update 1950s and 1960s galley kitchens. Bathroom Design projects often focus on modernizing primary baths in 1990s and 2000s homes. Basement Remodel projects are common for creating more functional living spaces in homes from various eras. We also provide Furnishing & Styling for living spaces in homes across Glenview.

Full-Home Design work from the studio

Led by Jennifer Peterson from the Chicago studio

Jennifer Peterson and Jill Kearns, the sisters behind J. Peterson Design

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
