“I have completed several projects with J. Peterson Design over the past 4 years: a total kitchen remodel in a previous house, plus updates to the dining room and living room; as well as updating another home that we moved into in 2014. The kitchen remodel involved knocking out walls, creating an island and moving the sink, dishwasher & refrigerator, as well as choosing new cabinetry, countertop, appliances, tile backsplash, and floor for the entire level. Jennifer gave us excellent guidance for space planning, functional use of the space and cabinetry, as well as an excellent eye for design. All of the materials we selected complemented each other well, without being too matchy-matchy. Incidentally, when we sold that home in June, 2014, we had our first (of several) offer within 24 hours and the house sold for over our asking price-and we had it priced high for the neighborhood. It was because the house was a gem after the remodeling and updating. We moved into another house-that needed updating- in 2014. J. Peterson Design helped us redo the kitchen, which involved cabinet refacing and hardware selection, countertop, tile backsplash, appliances and paint. She also helped us choose the perfect kitchen table and window treatments for that space. We have a family room with 18' ceilings. It was not easy to find furniture to fill that room, but Jennifer found the perfect bookcase/entertainment center that was tall enough to balance out the height of the room. She also helped with picking carpet, paint and light fixtures for the dining room, formal living room and foyer. We did not want either of our homes to appear like we bought everything from a "big-box" store. However, when you start shopping at specialty stores-like lighting and tile-the choices can be overwhelming and the prices can get very high. It was well worth my money spent on Jennifer's services to help narrow down the selections and stay within a reasonable budget, not to mention the time she saved me running from store to store or scouring through catalogs. She was willing to do as much shopping for me as I wanted, but she was also very supportive when I did my own shopping and showed her my ideas. She has a good eye for how the entire project will look once it is complete...something that is hard for me to foresee. She is also very current with styles. I would highly recommend her design services.”
