Bathroom Design in Inverness

Our Bath Design service creates detailed plans for new or renovated bathrooms. We design the layout, select all materials, and document the construction details for your contractor.

What we do

Our process begins with a design consultation to understand your goals for the space. We then present your design, including floor plans and elevations. Construction documents detail the plumbing locations and electrical needs. Material selections cover everything from tile and fixtures to lighting and paint colors. We conduct jobsite inspections to ensure the design is built as intended, and we assist with finishing touches like accessories.

Who it suits

This service is for homeowners in Chicago, Southwest Michigan, and Atlanta. It suits renovations of existing bathrooms in historic homes or new construction primary bathrooms, guest bathrooms, and powder rooms.

Homes in Inverness

Inverness features many 1970s and 1980s custom homes in subdivisions like Inverness on the Ponds and The Woods of Inverness. These homes often present opportunities to update original primary bathrooms, which might be split into two small rooms or feature outdated finishes. We provide Bathroom Design services to address these layouts. Newer construction, such as the 2000s and 2010s homes in Inverness Point and Plum Grove Woodlands, often have open-concept living spaces, but homeowners might seek Color Consultation to refresh wall colors or Furnishing & Styling to personalize large rooms. Many 1990s two-story colonials in areas like Muirfield Village have kitchens that can benefit from a Kitchen Design update, perhaps to improve flow or incorporate modern appliances.

What homeowners in Inverness ask for

Homeowners in Inverness frequently seek Kitchen Design for their 1980s and 1990s homes, often to modernize layouts that feel closed off from living areas. Bathroom Design is also popular, especially for primary bathrooms in 1970s and 1980s custom homes that may have original finishes or inefficient layouts. Full-Home Design projects are common for residents looking to update multiple spaces in their 2000s homes, bringing a cohesive aesthetic throughout. Furnishing & Styling helps homeowners in newer subdivisions personalize their open-concept spaces.

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
