In Tucker

Homes in Tucker

Many homes in Tucker include 1960s and 1970s ranch-style houses in neighborhoods like Smoke Rise, often featuring closed-off galley kitchens that we frequently open up as part of our Kitchen Design service. Subdivisions such as Coopers Lake and Idlewood feature 1980s and 1990s two-story traditional homes, where we often address primary bathrooms with outdated finishes or inefficient layouts through our Bathroom Design service. We also work with homeowners in older areas near Main Street, where 1950s brick ranches may have smaller living spaces that benefit from our Furnishing & Styling expertise.

What homeowners in Tucker ask for

Homeowners in Tucker often seek our Full-Home Design service for 1970s and 1980s homes, aiming to update entire floor plans and finishes. We frequently redesign kitchens in 1960s ranches, addressing the common issue of a separate, small kitchen space. Many projects also involve updating primary bathrooms in 1990s two-story homes, where finishes like unpainted oak cabinetry and builder-grade fixtures are common.

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
