In Streamwood

Homes in Streamwood

Many homes in Streamwood are 1960s and 1970s split-level and ranch houses in subdivisions like Streamwood Lakes and Woodland Heights. These homes often feature smaller, enclosed kitchens, which we address with Kitchen Design to open up living spaces. We also see 1980s and 1990s two-story homes in areas such as Brittany Place, where primary bathrooms might have outdated finishes or inefficient layouts, which we update through Bathroom Design. Homes along Schaumburg Road often have original oak trim and cabinetry that homeowners want to update, which we can help with through Color Consultation.

What homeowners in Streamwood ask for

Homeowners in Streamwood often come to us for Kitchen Design to modernize 1970s galley kitchens, opening them to adjacent dining areas. We also frequently work on Bathroom Design projects, updating primary bathrooms in 1980s two-story homes. Many clients seek Full-Home Design to refresh entire 1990s residences, including Furnishing & Styling throughout.

About the studio

Two sisters, one studio

Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.

Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
