Kitchen & Bathroom Design in Arlington Heights
Our Kitchen & Bathroom Design service focuses on the most used spaces in your home. We design new kitchens and bathrooms or redesign existing ones, creating detailed plans for your contractor to build.
What we do
Our process begins with a design consultation to understand your project. We then present your design, including drawings and specifications for your new kitchen or bathroom. Construction documents provide detailed plans for your contractor, and material selections specify all finishes and fixtures. We conduct jobsite inspections during construction and add finishing touches at the project's completion.
Who it suits
This service is for homes in Chicago, Southwest Michigan, and Atlanta. It suits projects like a kitchen remodel in a Chicago bungalow or a new primary bathroom in an Atlanta craftsman home. We also design new kitchens and bathrooms for homes in Southwest Michigan.

Homes in Arlington Heights
Arlington Heights homes include 1950s ranch homes in neighborhoods like Scarsdale, often featuring smaller, closed-off kitchens that benefit from Kitchen Design services. We also see many 1970s and 1980s two-story homes in subdivisions such as Stonegate, where primary bathrooms may be split into two small, separate spaces, often addressed with Bathroom Design. Homes near Lake Arlington, built in the 1990s, frequently have unfinished basements that present opportunities for Basement Remodel projects. Many homes in the area, including those in the Parkway subdivision, have original oak trim from the 1980s that often prompts Color Consultation.
What homeowners in Arlington Heights ask for
Homeowners in Arlington Heights often seek Kitchen Design for their 1950s and 1960s ranch homes, aiming to open up galley kitchens. Many 1970s and 1980s two-story homes in the area prompt Bathroom Design projects to update outdated finishes and improve layouts. Full-Home Design is a common request for homes built in the 1990s, especially when integrating multiple living spaces. We also frequently work on Basement Remodel projects in homes across various eras.

About the studio
Two sisters, one studio
Jennifer Peterson founded J. Peterson Design in 2008 and leads our work in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. Her sister, Jill Kearns, leads the Atlanta studio. Together, we design homes that feel considered and beautiful, but also comfortable, functional, and personal to the people who live in them.
Although we work in different cities, we operate as one studio. We talk through plans, share ideas, question each other, and bring another experienced set of eyes to the decisions that matter. Being sisters makes that collaboration especially natural — there is a shorthand, an honesty, and a shared standard that has been there long before the studio.
